Signs and symptoms that can be associated with a tongue tie/ lip tie in babies/ infants are:

• Difficulty latching or staying on latch

• Nipple pain

• Poor weight gain

• Excessive gas or burps due to swallowing air

• Reflux/ colic

• Milk dribbles

• Bouts of Mastitis in mother due to infant not clearing milk properly

• Excessive spitting up

• Long feeding time or continual feeding

• Gagging or choking

• Chomping on the nipple or “lipstick nipple”

• An arched back due to discomfort

• Lip calluses or blisters

• Tucking of the upper lip

• Fussy/ fighting at the breast

• Difficulty holding a pacifier
